I am excited to announce that I was the runner up in the Penn State University Choir's Commissioning Competition, and they will be singing my piece, Snow, at their 2pm April 23rd concert. On February 17th, from 1-4 PM, I will be hosting a rehearsal/recording session/feedback session for my guided improv piece entitled “I had writer’s block“ (this is a working title and I am very much looking for feedback on a new title!) at Persona Studio. The piece is inspired by elitism in classical music, especially in voice education. I wrote this piece in part as a way to heal from feeling “not enough“ or “lesser“ as a composer and singer, and I hope this recording session can be healing for other singers who may be experiencing a similar sort of imposter syndrome. I am also hoping that singers can come and give me feedback on the structure of the piece. If you are a singer and you are available and interested in singing this, please fill out this form. If you’re interested in looking at the score ahead of time, it can be found in the scores page of this website under “art song.“

I will be premiering the role of Kid, in Lili Tobias’s new opera, Apple of My Eye. Free admission!

I will be competing as a composer in Sparks & Wiry Cries presents: 8th annual SongSLAM. Francesca Lionetta and Amber Scherer will be premiering What this voice can do, the third song in my song cycle, Flowers in Winter with text by Thandiwe McMillan.
